Robert
is a past national president of the Royal Australian Institute of
Architects (RAIA) and past president of Kidsafe Victoria, The Child
Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia.
Robert’s
unique management experience has resulted in many professional
speaking engagements, presentations on management, marketing and
building construction topics to audiences around Australia, the
United States, New Zealand, Malaysia and India.
Robert
was a T.V. presenter on “Healthy Wealthy and Wise” on the
Australian Ten Network, a presenter on the Australian Seven
Network’s House Hunt program, and regularly appears on current
Australian television and radio programs.
Robert
was commodore of Albert Sailing Club and was instrumental in
developing sailing programs for beginners, some of whom have gone
on to win Australian and world championships and even an Olympic
gold medal.
During
the trip, Robert will conduct informative interviews with local
builders, architects and homeowners to learn about the historical
and current construction methods, designs, building codes and
materials used compared with Australian and international
standards.
Robert's
personal assistant, “Niko” (Robert's alter ego), has on past
sailing adventures wreaked havoc on the boat, amongst the other
crewmembers and on the unwitting local communities.
Unlike
Robert's highly refined and reserved demeanor, Niko, who is
often out of control, will continually split the sides of the
crewmembers, the locals at port and the Island Hoppers'
audience with hilarious one-liners that come from absolutely
nowhere.
As
our unofficial sixth crewmember, Niko will often need to be
bound, gagged and locked in the brig to keep the rest of the
crew safe from laughter headaches.
Robert's
favourite saying:
“It
doesn’t matter where you end up, it is how far you have traveled
that defines a person’s success”
